CSR Activities at Clarks Group of Hotels

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a self-regulating business model that helps a company be socially accountable — to itself, its stakeholders, and the public. Reduce carbon footprints to mitigate climate change. Improve labour policies and embrace fair trade. Engage in charitable giving and volunteer efforts within your community. These are the most common examples of corporate social responsibility.

India is the first country in the world to make corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandatory, following an amendment to the Companies Act, 2013 in April 2014. Businesses can invest their profits in areas such as education, poverty, gender equality, and hunger as part of any CSR compliance

Clarks Initiatives

The Clarks Group of Hotels supports a number of initiatives, as below:
  • Disha School for special children in Jaipur with games, movies and day meals on certain days. Clarks also organises special picnics for the children on occasions such as Dusshera.
  • Help in Suffering, an animal welfare organization working for stray animals.
  • Tribal Schools in Fagi, where Clarks provides mid-day meals to all children.
  • Clarks actively supports Raksha, an NGO working for injured birds and reptiles. Clarks recently donated an ambulance to Raksha.
  • Clarks firmly supports Faith Sansthan, an NGO which supports HIV children with mid-day meals every-day.
  • Clarks Seeds of Change is a tree plantation drive where Clarks engaged the society to pledge plantation of trees. Clarks planted close to 12,000 trees in Jaipur on behalf of all those who pledged on the initiative.
  • Professional Hotel Education: Clarks supports underprivileged children of society by providing them with an opportunity to learn and make a career in the hospitality sector. Candidates receive hands-on training in a real working environment in various departments, but also capsule courses in communication skills, personality development, and computer skills by internal and external trainers. Clarks personally ensures that the training provided is absolutely in sync with the industry requirements.
  • ITI Alwar: Mahila Industrial Training Institute, Alwar has been set up under the Craftsman Training Scheme affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) under the Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGE&T), Govt. of India under the Ministry of Labour and Employment New Delhi.
  • The main objective of establishing the Industrial Training Institute has been to create the cadre of skilled manpower as per the requirement and emerging needs of the industries and market which will address the issue of skill gap and unemployment by creating an opportunity for job and self-employment.
  • Donation towards Kerala flood relief to support those affected by the floods.

The major impact that the activities have had, has been providing a better quality of life to individuals affected under any calamity, providing means of employment to underprivileged children and helping animals in every small way possible.
